3 Doors Down来自美国密西西比州比洛克西城（Biloxi）附近的小镇Escatawpa，他们是靠着一首成名单曲和很多在当地受欢迎的现场演唱会而逐渐走红的。由Brad Arnold (主唱，1978年12月27日出生)，Todd Harrell (贝司手)，Matt Roberts(吉他手)，Chris Henderson (吉他手)和Daniel Adair (鼓手)组成。

: W3 M( M( W; e% ^8 w* N, R1 P1997年，3 Doors Down一边演出一边推销他们一开始录制的一些小样。这期间他们的卖座单曲Kryptonite，导致了比洛克西的本地广播站WCPR空前的电话点播。这使他们在故乡大受欢迎并且逐渐能够吸引大批的观众来看他们在当地的现场演唱会。这一切帮助他们把他们的名字传到了密西西比州之外，传出了偏远的南方一直传到一些国际性的著名俱乐部，像纽约的CBGB。3 Doors Down在CBGB的表演使他们引起了Republic唱片公司的注意，这是一个Universal唱片公司的附属公司。随后他们与Republic/Universal签了约，迈出了他们正式发行唱片的地一步。
