Sevendust 乐队名称，前身叫 Crawlspace，成军于 1995 年，1997 年起改名并发行同名专辑【Sevendust】。& a5 G0 D. \2 I7 s

" x1 H9 X q% v5 G! a% o, O& `5 L& t他们在 1999 年推出【Home】专辑时，音乐电视频道上强力放送着 Sevendust 跟英国重摇滚 Skunk Anansie 的光头黑人暴女主唱 Skin 所合唱的《Licking Cream》，音乐录像带拍得酷劲，而歌曲本身的旋律性、编曲演奏的煽动性和两个黑人密合而又轮流突出的「男女对唱」，都让我再三为之惊艳，当下对 Sevendust 发表过的作品展开追寻，并陆续收齐后续的新专辑。* j7 M5 `. T5 S) Z/ k, c# ?/ V9 n$ e
对于 Sevendust，有一点始终让我觉得有些奇怪，那就是他们在外插花的单歌，似乎极少资源回收放在自己的专辑里，譬如在 WWF（那时还没改名为 WWE）美式摔角明星出场主题曲合辑【Forceable Entry】里的《Break The Wall》、为电影【The Scorpion King（魔蝎大帝）】原声带所献唱的《Corrected》都是。而在电影【Scream 3（惊声尖叫3）】电影原声带中的《Fall》、以「摇滚、金属/饶舌、嘻哈的混种格斗」为出发点的概念性合辑【LOUD ROCK】里跟 Xzibit 互轧的《What U See Is What U Get》这两首歌在我心目中都是与《Licking Cream》相比毫不逊色的一等一精彩杰作，一样都是「货物出门概不退换」。也许是因为他们特别想强调“量身订制”的意义，或是非常注重专辑的概念的「统一性与整体性」，这一点我不得而知，但我必须说，如果不是因为在《Licking Cream》之后又听见《Fall》，感受到 Sevendust 有别于时下多数只重视融入嘻哈节奏加上金属音墙表象所谓 nu-metal 团优异的旋律谱写能力，也许从来并非纯正金属迷的我就不会对 Sevendust 这个团产生高度兴趣了。
