9 W. X( ^1 M# N% r" N终极杀戮乐团（Killswitch Engage，简称 KsE 或 Killswitch）是一支来自美国马萨诸塞州的金属核乐团。目前乐团成员为主唱Jesse Leach，贝斯手 Mike D'Antonio，吉他手 Joel Stroetzel 与 Adam Dutkiewicz，鼓手 Justin Foley。他们目前已经发行了六张录音室专辑及一张 DVD。

8 C; O, ]: ~" P! h* g1998年，Metalcore乐团Overcast解散后，贝司手Mike D’Antonio想要组织一个结合硬核朋克与重金属的新团，隔年找来Aftershock的双吉他手团员Adam Dutkiewicz以及Joel Stroetzel共同创作演出，最后邀请Jesse Leach担任主唱一职后，Killswitch Engage正式宣告成军。
% k! O% M3 R# O& Y5 q0 J" z* v他们的音乐旋律性比较强，排山倒海般整洁快速的吉他音墙，厚重的鼓点，沉稳的贝司，主歌部分声嘶力竭的双主唱吼叫，副歌部分具有恢弘气势的演唱，外加出众的旋律编曲。这就是killswith engage一支来自美国的重金属乐队，他们最近被美国国内一些媒体评为美国重金属新浪潮代表之一，也就是New Wave of American Heavy Metal运动，被评为美国新派激流(New Thrash)代表之一。
0 v' F3 I. b; {$ Y6 D5 [2000年推出独立厂牌的首张同名专辑，就在多加入一名成员Tom Gomes担任鼓手后，2002年进入Roadrunner后问世《Alive Or Just Breathing》，在没有强力宣传下大破十余万销售量，深受地下独立乐界好评赞誉。换上新任主唱Howard Jones以及新任鼓手Justin Foley顺势推出《The End Of Heartache》，首周便空降全美流行专辑榜Top21位置，凶猛的作品也成为美国摔角WWE与ECW等选手最爱。
/ W: \9 f! o0 i6 V4 H) Q8 I) C2004年发行的这张《The End Of Heartache》专辑也出现在多个2004年终十大金属专辑的排名中。在经历了前两张的狠重之外，本张专辑成员有所变化，新主唱Howard Jones上任，据说他有黑人血统，看着到是很像，他的嗓音在副歌的演唱部分恢弘而美丽，显得非常有气势。总体来说这是他们最具旋律化的一张专辑，但是能量依旧。另一个使乐队的音乐非常有气势的原因在于双主唱的轮番怒吼，不停轰炸听者的神经系统，令人大呼过瘾。虽然如此之重，但Killswitch Engage并不是死亡金属那种令很多人难以忍受的厚重。专辑中的bid farewell、rose of sharyn、The End of Heartache都具有出众的旋律，很值得一听。同名主打歌更是被收录进《生化危机2》的电影中做主题曲。此张专辑发行首周在全美销量三万多张，攀上billboard专辑榜第21名，是他们近年最好的商业成绩，并以此张专辑获得了本届格莱美最佳金属演奏(Best Metal Performance)奖提名。

整张专辑给人感觉整体性非常强但又不会相互混乱。尽管歌曲的内容大部分是控诉、愤怒，但是你听到的更多的是背后的无奈和绝望。这很大程度上要归功于主唱Howard Jones。他在压嗓怒吼时给人感觉非常爽快，不像Lamb of God的主唱Blythe或者God Forbid的主唱Byron Davis那样给人那样低沉、混浊。当他转到清嗓部分又衔接的很流畅，这时声音非常嘹亮、空旷，而且歌词的结尾出经常有少许颤音，这个时候每个人都会被那悲伤的气氛感动。
