MGK的父母是传教士，并且曾经在埃及，德国，芝加哥，洛杉矶，丹佛和俄 亥俄定居过。MGK出生后的4年都在埃及度过，所以他首先说的语言是阿拉伯语。MGK从6年级开始听说唱歌曲，14岁时搬到了现 在的家乡克里夫兰。 MGK在自己的家庭录音室工作，他形容后者是“Rage Cage”样的地方。MGK第一次出现在众人眼前是参与了MTV2的Sucker Free Freestyle节目 。2010年2月，他发行了自己的首张Mixtape《100 Words and Running》。同年5月，他凭借着《Alice In Wonderland》的音乐录影带和歌曲进 一步得到注意。9月，MGK发行了自己的第二张Mixtape《Lace Up》，作品中歌曲“Cleveland”获得了当地球队的青睐。 2011年11月15日，MGK发布了歌曲“Wild Boy”的音乐录影带。歌曲排名公告牌榜单第98位。 2012年4月1日在wwe的摔角狂热上为约翰塞纳演唱出场曲Invincible。
