在改为Radiohead之前，乐队的名字刚开始叫做On a Friday。而乐队之所以选“Radiohead”作为乐队名的灵感来源于Talking Heads乐队1986年的专辑《True Stories》中的歌曲《Radio Head》。1991年末，Radiohead与英国Parlophone公司和美国Capitol公司先后签约。随后，Radiohead发行了首张EP唱片《Drill》，但并没有引起媒体和歌迷的过多关注。1993年4月，乐队发行了首张正式专辑《Pablo Honey》。和《Drill》一样，《Pablo Honey》在发行之初也并没有掀起什么波澜。直到专辑中的歌曲《Creep》在MTV台中热播之后，更多的歌迷才注意到了这张专辑。# g: t0 p9 n6 r& g
