2010年末，Marina在格拉斯哥演唱会上宣布她将会在2011年的10月推出新歌，但是Marina声称她不知道还要多久才可以完成新专辑，在2011年1月，Marina向媒体宣布，她的个人第二张专辑的主题将会是关于女性主义的。而在年初的时候，Marina所创造的3首新歌歌被泄漏了，分别是"Sex, Yeah", "Living Dead"和 "Jealousy"，而这三首歌的曲风与首专的小清新风大所不同，而是让人朗朗上口的流行电子风。对于Jealousy没有被收录在专辑，Marina是这样回答的:因为它是存活在B-Side里，所有它不会收录在专辑中。，而另外两首泄漏的歌曲"Sex, Yeah"和 "Living Dead"也被证实将会收录到Marina的第二张录音室专辑Electra Heart中，而新专辑的制作人分别请到了有M.I.A.的制作人Diplo；Rihanna和Chris Brown的制作人Stargate；Katy Perry和Nicki Minaj的制作人Dr. Luke；以及Bjork的制作人Guys Sigsworth去为Marina制作这张新专辑。% n9 H6 z9 \, I9 ^) D

011年8月8号，Marina通过个人YouTube发布了一个名为"Part 1: Fear and Loathing"的MV。虽然Fear and Loathing这首歌将会收录在专辑中，但是这首歌将不会成为打榜单曲发行，而MV也透露了Marina的"心"在慢慢转变的缩影，体现了自我腐败堕落的美国那种意识，谎言，幻觉与死亡。在和Popjustice的采访中，Marina称Electra Heart代表了一切，拥有主张权。专辑放映了一个拥有腐败堕落的美国意识心理的人，面对腐败和堕落感觉很可怕， 任何人都恐惧这种感觉，害怕失去自己，成为一个空壳， Marina在与Popjustice的采访中透露到Electra Heart这张专辑将会是一张充满概念性和在连续性的专辑。而Electra Heart第二部分就是Radioactive，这首歌由Stargate而制作，在9月22号通过了英国BBC电台播出，于10月30号在iTunes上架。Marina后来在和粉丝举行的一个网络视频活动中透露到Electra Heart将于和首专The Family Jewels同一个月份推出，二月到来，Marina最终并没有推出Electra Heart，但是后来Marina在个人推特上发布Electra Heart将会在4月30号全球发布。新专首单Primadonna更空降英国单曲榜第11名,并在多个国家取得优异成绩，成为了Marina首支成绩最好的单曲,这支单曲在英国的销售量达150000。随后Marina宣称Power and Control将会是英国二单,而收录在美版专辑中的新歌How to Be A Heartbreaker将会是美国二单。Marina将计划Electra Heart这张新专辑会宣传到明年...
