2004年，他们的不幸之年，随着他们的几位亲人的去世，带给他们的是沉重的悲痛。也可以说是“化悲痛为力量”，他们毫不犹豫，创作了他们2004的《Funeral》，通过他们毫不掩饰的心情演奏，来表达对亲人离去的伤感。
在录制这唱片期间，Chassagne的祖母、Butler的祖父和另一位成员的姨姨相继离世，因此说唱片被不安所笼罩，并没有半点夸张。碟内有多首命名为《Neighborhood》的歌曲，似是诉说某幻想中的邻居的故事。例如《Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)》表面看是一首纯洁的情歌，但当歌者那率真的爱情观与其父母们失败的婚姻并列，却令爱情埋藏著一丝危机；《Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)》中唱到《what’s the plan? / is it a dream? / is it a lie? / I think I’ll let you decide》，勾划出成长途上的怅惘。

2010年发行录音室专辑《The Suburbs》。
2013年10月发行专辑《Reflektor》。

2016年6月17日，成员Butler主持Reddit AMA，他透露乐队正在筹备新专辑的录制。7月19日，成员Tim Kingsbury透露第五张新专辑将会在2017年发行。
