DMX简介
DMX是说唱界新生力量的代表人物，同样的，他也具备了年轻一带说唱乐手特有的叛逆风格--粗口歌词，惹是生非，同时广受歌迷欢迎。Earl Simmons生于1970年12月18日的美国Maryland州的Baltimore。他艺名来自DMX数字录音设备的名字，并在当地的一家俱乐部开始DJ的职业生涯。1991年他赢得了Source杂志的Unsigned Hype Award大奖，次年在哥伦比亚唱片公司出版了一张单曲Born Loser。后来他力图摆脱自己与哥伦比亚唱片公司的不合理的合约，而在1994年出版了单曲Make AMove后这件事儿就没有下文了，他本人也消失在乐坛。其后在LL Cool J的单曲中他戏剧性的复出。而他在Mase's的"24 Hours To Live", the LOX's的"Money, Power & Respect"和Ice Cube's的"We Be Clubbin'"混音版中的出色演出确立他的名气。最近他签约于Ruff Ryders/ Def Jam唱片公司，出版了单曲Get At Me Dog，在美国单曲榜上排名前40，这首歌曲是从B.T. DMX最早小有名气靠的是一身街头的肉搏功夫。之后，他试验着各种不同的方式来进化他自己革命性的嗓子。在寻求着各种方式的同时自我超越。那时候，他曾经用头在学校附近的墙上猛撞，并与跟“坏小子”（BAD BOY）录音室的艺术家们建立了深厚的友谊。
在美国专门制造明星音乐工业中――所谓明星就看起来很正道，所说所做都很规矩的整齐而精美的包装品――很难有机会见证一位真正的艺术家的出现。签约于Def Jam唱片公司的DMX却是个例外。自从DMX于1998年复出后，他就以他那原始而放肆的能量，不屈的热情和狂暴的歌词使整个Hip-Hop的世界为之着迷，那一年无疑是属于这个愤世疾俗的家伙。DMX早期作为客席乐手有很多出色的表现，例如L.L.Cool J专辑中的《4.3.2.1》，“诺克斯”乐队（The Lox）专辑中的《钱，权力和尊严》（Money, Power & Respect），还有Mase专辑中的《24小时生活》（24 Hours to Live）。在这之后，他以一首真诚的街头颂歌《了解我的狗》（Get At Me Dog ）吸引了世界的注意力，在美国单曲榜上排名前40，这首歌曲采样了“BT表达”（B.T. 那年的夏天，在完成了“病态幸存者”（Survival of the illest）的巡演后，DMX再一次回到了录音棚，在12月发行了《我血我肉》（Flesh of my flesh，Blood of my blood）这张经典的恐怖电影风格的专辑。这张专辑中包括那首言辞尖锐的自传体歌曲《滑行》（Slipping）。这张专辑与上一张仅相隔六个月的时间，并且在他所有发行的唱片中拥有最出色的销售量。
