乐队的首张专辑《What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?》于2011年3月14日由哥伦比亚唱片唱片公司(Columbia Records)发行，专辑最终取得了英国专辑排行榜(UK Album Chart)第四位的好成绩。有人把他们同The Strokes和Ramones相比较，The Vaccines则形容自己的音乐融合了“50年代的摇滚（rock and roll），60年代的车库摇滚（grarge）和女子团体组合（girls group），70年代的朋克（punk），80年代的美国硬核(American Hardcore)和流行乐（good pop music）”。这支年轻的乐队担任过The Walkman，Arcade Fire，Arctic Monkeys等众多著名独立摇滚乐队巡演的暖场嘉宾。

发展历程
早期生涯
乐队在2009年成立之初，只有Justin Young，Freddie Cowan和另外一名成员在内的三名成员，但那名成员在乐队成立后不久便离队了，之后的几个月Young和Cowan一支努力尝试想要提高乐队的知名度。2010年8月份，乐队上传了一支demo"If You Wanna"到Youtube，令Young和Cowan没想到的是，"If You Wanna"在Zane Lowe（BBC电台著名DJ）的"Hottest Record In The World”获得了好评。
The Vaccines完成了在Leicester的处女秀后便开始着手准备他们的首次英国巡演，乐迷们对这支年轻乐队的好奇使得他们巡演首站伦敦站的门票销售一空，这些买票看他们演出的观众还包括了Alex Kapranos，Marcus Mumford，独立摇滚乐队White Lies和The Maccabees的成员等在内的一些音乐人，此外，还有将近200位乐迷因为演出现场满座不能再入场而被拒之门外。英国《卫报》(The Guardian)给予了这场演出四星半的高度评价，而著名音乐时尚杂志《Clash》则把此次演出赞誉为"fantastic, exhilarating and exciting"，并大胆预测The Vaccines将会开创一个新的guitar music时代。
首专发行至今
2010年11月29日，乐队发行了他们的首支单曲"Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)" / "Blow It Up"，这支单曲在英国由Marshall Teller Records限量发行1000张。之后乐队继续进行他们2010年剩下的英国巡演，英国杂志《Vice Magazine》把此次巡演制成了纪录片。同年12月，The Vaccines为Marc Riley's BBC 6 Music show录制了他们第一次电台访问节目。乐队还曾在Later with Jools Hollan上表演过，他们也成为了第一支还未发行过单曲就登上此节目的乐队。
2010年1月5日，The Vaccines 被由BBC评出的年度新声列为年度第三大最值得期待的新声势力，在同一个星期，乐队第一次登上了NME杂志封面。紧接着他们利用年初的时间以乐迷的身份参与了2011 NME Awards并支持Crystal Castles。他们还第一次去到了美国，在纽约，他们观看了Debbie Harry的演出。之后他们签约了美国的Columbia Records，乐队在1月24日发行了第二支单曲"Post Break-Up Sex"，这支单曲一经发行就登上了英国排行榜的第32位。同时，乐队获得了MTV欧洲音乐奖(MTV Award)“2011年度最佳新晋乐队"和全英音乐奖(Brit Award)“乐评人选择奖"的提名。在参与了SXSW的演出之后，The Vaccines发行了他们的第一张专辑What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?。
2011年8月乐队发行了一支新歌"Tiger Blood"，并有消息称乐队已经在筹备他们的第二张专辑，但The Vaccines并未透露任何关于新专辑的细节。
2011年九月，由于主唱Justin Young的声带受损而在近9个月内做了三次手术，乐队不得不推迟了日本和美国的巡演，还有整个欧洲的巡演。尽管如此，The Vaccines在2011年还是完成了150场演出，并且成功在London's o2 Brixton Academy进行了两晚的演出。
