乐队宣告暂时解散 2012 -2013
2012年10月2日，乐队核心Dave Grohl宣告Foo Fighters将暂时解散，回归时期未定。原因是Dave Grohl将亲自作为导演，拍摄一部名为"Sound City"的纪录片。讲述洛杉矶传奇录音室"Sound City"的故事。Dave说这个录音室在他心中有着非常重要的位置，当年他还是Nirvana鼓手，传奇专辑《Nevermind》就诞生于此。

我是dave。我写这封信是想从心底感谢你们所有人，这又是不可思议的一年（确切地说，是我们的第18年）。没有你们，我们绝对不可能做到这些。
我从不敢想Foo Fighters能走到今天这么远，真的，我从没敢这样想过。有一段时间我觉得乐队不能撑过去，也有一段时间我想过要放弃。但是，我不能放弃这个乐队，我也绝不会！因为它对我而言不仅是一个乐队，它是我的生命，是我的家，是我的整个世界。
