Serj Tankian, 生于1967年8月21日.
是一个美籍亚美尼亚裔的创作歌手,作曲家,多种乐器演奏者,唱片制作人,诗人以及政治活动家. 最被人熟知的角色就是担任拿过格莱美奖的摇滚乐队System of a Down的主唱,作曲,键盘以及偶尔在现场中担任旋律吉他手.在他的音乐生涯中,Tankian在System of a Down乐队中发行了五张CD,一张同Arto Tun?boyac?yan(Serart), 还有两张个人专辑Elect the Dead和Imperfect Harmonies, 以及一张曾与奥克兰爱乐乐团合作的交响乐现场 Elect the Dead Symphony. 在2002年, Tankian 和Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave的吉他手Tom Morello共同创建了非营利性政治活动组织,Axis of Justice. Tankian还创办了音乐厂牌 Serjical Strike Records. Tankian 被评为Hit Parader有史以来Top 100金属歌手第26位. 早年Tankian 在黎巴嫩贝鲁特出生于1967年8月21日,8岁时随家移民到加利福尼亚洛杉矶市.青少年时期的Tankian就读于一所美国亚美尼亚裔学校"The Rose & Alex Pilibos School",同时就读于这所学校的还有之后System of a Down乐队的Daron Malakian和Shavo Odadjian. 成绩不错的Tankian之后又就读于加利福尼亚州立大学,在这里,Tankian第一次开始写起了歌,玩起了乐器.
